Practical Training
Stakeholder awareness building
Our stakeholders can expect our awareness process will allow us to listen, collaborate with, or inform them (or a combination of all three). We will identify, map, and prioritize stakeholders to determine the best tactics for effective communication while making the best use of available resources.
Practical agroforestry training
Our agroforestry training and talks offer comprehensive agroforestry education. The principal activity of the program is an applied planning and design exercise. Trainees work in small groups to gain hands-on training in agroforestry design based on the needs of smallholder/rural farmers.
Farmer Field Schools (The Agroforestry Way)
Farmer field school programs are handy for building farmers’ skills in sustainable farming techniques, enabling smallholder farmers to improve their food security and livelihoods, and raising awareness on the economic costs reoccurring from farm inputs like seeds, fertilizers, and chemicals and pesticides.
School gardens
Our school gardens initiative seeks to harness children’s interest in the natural world, drive environmental awareness, ecological literacy, and wellness, and reinforce students’ knowledge of nutrition and food access by outdoor engagement and applied to learning in a practical way to "catch them young".
Exchange/Learning Programs
Farmer exchange programs provide opportunities for mutual learning of good and sustainable agricultural practices and techniques through sharing experiences.
